A welcome from the lower school principal,
Kathy Ivill

Thank you for your interest in Banner Christian’s lower school! Our motto is “Christ first, education second to none” and our faculty work diligently to make the learning environment consistent with those values. We are excited about the meaningful activities that promote learning throughout the day for kindergarten through fifth graders. Walking down the hallway, one might observe first graders who are enthusiastically playing “Around the World” with phonic sounds or fifth graders who are engrossed in group STEM activities. You will also see teachers who pray with and disciple their students often, as well as teaching Bible as a subject. They incorporate biblical truths into their other curricula, in order to make learning Christ-centered, purposeful, and meaningful. Our students also participate in 7 weekly resources that enrich our curriculum: PE, drama, Spanish, music, computer, art and library. All of this begins at a young age, as we work together with our parents for one common purpose; to develop and educate the whole student to the glory of God.

I’d like to extend an invitation for you to come and tour our facility, as well as get any questions answered, that you may have.

A welcome from the middle & upper school principal,
Barbi de Haas

On behalf of our faculty and staff, I am happy to welcome you to Banner Christian School’s website. Thank you for taking the time to visit our pages and I invite you to explore the site and get to know us better. We believe that all children are fearfully and wonderfully made and that it is the responsibility of the school to cooperate with parents to disciple and assist them in their academic, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth. Our curriculum is rigorous, preparing our students for college and future careers and our Bible classes/biblical integration practices provide students with academic biblical knowledge as well as the tools they need to develop, strengthen, and grow a meaningful relationship with God. We also offer a number of programs and activities to build the hearts, minds, and bodies of our students, from mentoring programs and small groups to sports and physical education, we are committed to educating the whole child to the glory of God.

If you have any questions or would like to apply for admission, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to the opportunity to partner with you in the education of your children and to glorifying God by assisting them in achieving their highest potential.

Currently, 38% of BCS’s faculty members hold master’s degrees. The average student/teacher ratio is 8 to 1 with teachers having an average of 15.24 years experience. Each faculty member specializes in specific subjects, ranging from teaching phonics in kindergarten to AP Calculus. Banner’s Mission Statement addresses the desire to teach to the whole child. Teachers instruct using the academic curriculum, but they also minister to students spiritually, socially, emotionally and physically. Consequently, the staff spends time praying, mentoring, and encouraging students, as well as striving to be helpers and sources of discipline and love in their students’ lives.

What Parents are Saying

Our children have excelled at Banner, and for our older children, each was accepted to many top-rated schools. The school of their choice provided outstanding scholarship offers..”

BCS is an awesome school. Our daughters have had the greatest time and education the 6 years they have been there.

We were drawn to Banner by the vision it was founded on & the intentional way they’re bringing that vision to life. A few things we love about the school: Caring staff that made our kid’s transition from their old school to Banner a positive one. Huge parent involvement & support. Their goal was to have a diverse student population, so they are intentional about seeking out families from every background & hosting Chinese exchange students. The Senior trip is a mission trip where the kids can serve others & have fun. The Upper School students mentor & teach the Lower School students through their Bible Buddies program. A GREAT music & drama program. Best of all, my kids start EVERY day meeting for praise & worship with the whole school (student-led praise team, band, sound & video teams). My kids constantly ask to turn on their favorite worship songs now. Many of our conversations about God are sparked by something they heard at school. We are so glad our family found Banner!
